MAINSTAGE ADJUDICATOR
Dean Paul Gibson

Dean is a graduate of Vancouver's prestigious Studio 58 professional theatre training
program. He is an artistic associate with Vancouver's celebrated Shakespeare Festival Bard On the Beach and has appeared in fifteen of
their productions. He traveled with the national tour of the acclaimed production The
Overcoat for the Vancouver Playhouse
and was a member of the original award-winning production in 1997. He was featured in the
award winning GreenThumb
production of Problem Child, which also garnered him a Jessie Richardson Award
for his work. Some recent credits include; the Belfry
Theatre's production of "Stones In His Pockets", Lucio in Measure
for Measure for Bard On the Beach, Ray Say in The Rise and Fall of Little
Voice for the Vancouver
Playhouse, Inspector Goole An Inspector Calls WCT / Gateway
Theatre and Kemp in Vigil (WCT). Dean will
be revisiting the role of Kemp in Vigil this fall at (Theatre Calgary.)

Dean has also taught classes and workshops for
Backstage, Mainstage, Capilano College and Bard on the Beach, focused on the Love of
Language.
Theatre BC: Dean has served as Adjudicator for many Zone Festivals and has
been enthralling participants with his The Shakespearean Soliloquy & Love of
Language Acting Workshops for numerous Backstage & MAINSTAGE Festivals.

Between Shifts Theatre (NSZ)David has
been Artistic Producer of Western
Canada Theatre in Kamloops for over 23 years. Prior to returning to the
West, he co-founded Rising TideTheatre in St. John's, NFLD, touring Canada,England, Wales
and Ireland.David has served Western Canada Theatre and other companies as an actor,
director, musician, dramaturge and sound designer. Some of his recent directing credits
include Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad, and the world premieres of Ernestine Shuswap
Gets Her Trout, Scandal: The Robert Sommers Story, and The Dreamer's
Quest. Some of his favourite roles in the last few years include, Mushnik in Little
Shop of Horrors, Robert in Proof, Angus in The Drawer Boy, and
Dupuis Tarwater in Outlaw. David has acted in more than 100 dramas for CBC Radio
and also appears in the feature film Deepwater shot in and around Clearwater. David is
serving a second three-year term on the BC Arts Council.
In addition to his work at WCT, he has adjudicated drama festivals in both BC and
Newfoundland, including serving as Adjudicator at Theatre BC's MAINSTAGE 2000 provincial
festival in Delta. David continues to support the endeavours of Theatre BC and sees the
New Play Festival and the development of new Canadian work as elemental to WCT's mandate.

Lanni McInnes - Workshop Play #2

Serious Moonlight Prod. (CIZ)Lanni's work as an actor and director has primarily been with Western
Canada Theatre, for thirty-plus years. Those years
have also included projects with other professional theatres across B.C. Lanni recently
directed Having Hope at Home by David S. Craig, for WCT's Sagebrush Theatre
(mainstage) series. She has served as a Dramaturge Instructor for TBC's New Play Festival
in Kamloops since 2000, as a Playwriting Competition Juror in 2001, and as a course
workshop instructor at Mainstage in Kamloops. Lanni will also be leading a Special Course
in "Directing The Actor" for this festival.

North Peace Players (PRZ)JANET MICHAEL is a
Canadian theatre professional who has been employed bycompanies from Newfoundland to
British Columbia. She is presently Associate Director with Western Canada Theatre in
Kamloops where she has been engaged as an actor, director, musician, sound designer,
writer, dramaturge and teacher. Her journey through the world of Canadian theatre has led
her, most recently, to the choicest acting roles of her life - Ernestine in Tomson
Highway's ERNESTINE SHUSWAP GETS HER TROUT (WCT), Grandma in Alistair McLeod's NO
GREAT MISCHIEF (Vancouver Playhouse) and most recently and equally challenging
Charlotte Whitton in Sharon Bajer's MOLLY'S VEIL (WCT).
Janet's previous Theatre BC credits include: Zone Adjudication, Scene Development,
Special Course Workshop Instruction at Mainstage and Dramaturgy at Theatre BC's New Play
Festival in Kamloops.
