Application for
Scene Development Series
at
MAINSTAGE 2002

Deadline for Receipt of Application: March 31, 2002

Apply to attend MAINSTAGE 2002 as a Scene Development Play NOW!

This process offers entrants the opportunity to take their production to the next level during 15 hours of intensive workshop instruction with a professional director. With a production that is stage-ready, participants can concentrate on improving their skills and understanding of the theatrical craft as workshop directors take productions into a whole new range of possibilities. The application policy is as follows:

  1. All Member Clubs are eligible to apply now to go to MAINSTAGE 2002 as a Scene Development Play.
  2. Deadline for receipt of Application is March 31, 2002. Clubs applying after that date will be considered by the Selection Panel on an individual basis, depending on space available. There are six slots available for Scene Development this year.
  3. Applications for Scene Development must be made in confidence and sent to the Theatre BC office in Nanaimo. Applications will be acknowledged at time of receipt, but are expected to keep the confirmation confidential at their respective Zone Festivals. The Zone Chair will announce the Scene Development Series Club(s) at the Zone Festivals Awards Ceremony.
  4. Clubs chosen to represent their Zone as "Best Production" or "Workshop Play" would be removed from the Scene Development Series list.
  5. If Theatre BC receives more entries than MAINSTAGE 2002 can accommodate, a Selection Committee will decide which productions will be accepted.
  6. All participants in the Scene Development Series must register for MAINSTAGE 2002.

It is the hope of Theatre BC's Festival Committee that all Zone Festival entries applying for participation in the Scene Development Series will have the opportunity to participate. Clubs, knowing that they have applied, can start fundraising and participants can book holidays immediately. Scene Development is a tremendous process that all Member Clubs should have the opportunity to experience. Now you can make the choice yourselves…
