| Four lovers are called before Thesus, Duke of Athens, to settle a dispute of the heart. Deciding to elope, they find themselves in the magical, passionate and sinister world of the night, ruled over by Titania and Oberon. They become caught in the King and Queen's quarrel, and at the mercy of the mischievous Puck. Meanwhile, a group of hapless Mechanicals are attempting to rehearse for Thesus' wedding day (a Play). They become embroiled in Puck's meddling. | |

Workshop Play Recommendation

The Donna Lamb Award was awarded to Lorna Pennock of Rivercity Players, Campbell River.
Zone Festivals are held in each of Theatre BCs Zones throughout the spring, leading to the annual provincial MAINSTAGE theatre festival. Productions from each Zone Festival will participate as a "Best Production", "Workshop Play" or "Scene Development" at Theatre BC's Mainstage 2001 in Kamloops, B.C., June 30 to July 7.
