ACToberfest is intended to provide an event
that can be hosted in any community in the province and features One-Act
plays of less then one hour in length. Anyone can enter. The final line-up
is decided through a selection process. Particular attention is given
to new plays and Canadian works, including scripts that have been entered
into Theatre BC's Canadian National Playwriting Competition.
The organization inaugurated
the ACToberfest One Act Festival as part of Theatre BC's 75th
Anniversary Season, with the first event (2007) hosted by Theatre Kelowna
