                    Ben is a local actor who works in film,theatre,and television. His television credits include roles on The Outer Limits, Poltergeist, and Beyond Belief, and the made-for-TV movies, A Call to Remember and Song from the Heart. Ben also works as an acting instructor for children and young adults.

Theatre BC: Ben led a workshop on film work entitled Ready, Set, ACT! at Backstage 2002 in Vancouver.

FenwickI.jpg (8775 bytes) Ian Fenwick:
                       Ian was a founding member of  Touchstone Theatre and served as Artistic Director from 1975-80. He earned his MFA in Theatre Directing at UBC in 1981 and  has been teaching for the University College of the Fraser Valley Theatre Dept. since, where he guided the establishment of the Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre, the  development of the two-year Theatre Diploma and the Assoc.of Arts in Theatre. While there, he has established The Friends of the Theatre group, formed the Shakespeare Garden Committee and leads external study tours to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. He has travelled to Japan as guest instructor in Canadian Culture, and to the British Isles as theatre studies leader for a month-long interdisciplinary tour. 
     Ian has served on the board of the Harrison Festival Society, for whom  he also directed Medicine by Laverne Adams, featuring a mostly aboriginal cast and crew (which was filmed for distribution to schools, community centres and Indian Band offices). As Artistic Director of the annual Chilliwack Theatre Festival he also acted and directed in several productions. Ian coordinates the annual Directors' Theatre Festival featuring post secondary students from around the province and he served as Director of Ceremonies for the BC Summer Games 1992-93. He has been a free-lance Director since 1975, an adjudicator/workshop leader for the BC School Districts since 1981, and served as reader for the provincial Youthrite playwriting competition in 2001/2002.

Theatre BC: Ian served as an adjudicator for numerous Zone Festivals  and has been an Acting instructor, Scene Development and Workshop Director at Mainstage festivals during the 80's.  He also served on the Eveything You Wanted To Know About Auditioning panel at the AGM Conference in 2003.

Cornelius Fischer-Credo Cornelius Fischer-Credo:
                                        Born in Germany and raised in Vancouver, Cornelius Fischer-Credo has had an extensive international career in dance, both as Choreographer and performer. He has choreographed over 30 original works for Dancecorps, a company he co-directed since 1988. His company, Astrid presented its inaugural production in the fall of 1999. He has also choreographed works for Toronto’s Dancemakers, the National Ballet of Canada, Ballet British Columbia and Group de la Place Royale in Ottawa. He has been an instructor of modern dance for over15 years teaching primarily within professional dance communities, locally and internationally, as well as being a sessional instructor for UBC’s School of Human Kinetics since 1994 and  in the Theatre and Creative Writing Department also at UBC.
Dean Fogal Dean Fogal :
                    Dean Fogal, BA, MA, is the founder and Co-Artistic Director of the TooBa Physical Theatre, now the only registered and designated physical theatre centre in the country. He trained intensively for six years in France with Marcel Marceau and the father of modern mime technique, Etienne Decroux, and with Thomas Leabhart in the USA. Dean has offered ongoing classes in the art of Corporeal Theatre in his private studio, The Corporeal Mime Studio Vancouver, since 1978. He has taught summer courses in Hawaii and in Denmark and has workshopped widely throughout the USA

Theatre BC: Dean led workshops entilted The Physical Actor at Backstage '99, and Creative Mime Acting at Mainstage 2006.

Ian Forsyth was born and raised in Vancouver,graduating from UBC with a BFA in Theatre. Since University, Ian did numerous TV shows, commercials and movies. While freelancing as an actor, director and writer, Ian got into arts administration working at the Arts Club Theatre. During Expo 86, he became manager of The Vancouver Theatresports League. Ian directed Suspect-A Game of Murder for Carousel Theatre School., and assistant-directed Maniac Bride at the Arts Club, while teaching acting and directing at Carousel Theatre School.
In 1992, after working with the New Play Centre, Carousel Theatre
and Pi (Pink Ink) Theatre
. Ian accepted an opportunity to open and run the North Peace Cultural Centre in Fort St. John. where he continued to direct local theatre productions and to conduct workshops in Improvisational Theatre and Acting for Film and TV. Moving to Kelowna in August of 1998, he became the city's Cultural Services Manager; administrating the Community Theatre which afforded Ian even more opportunities to be involved with the local theatre community.
In November of 2001, Ian accepted a job as the Cultural Programs
Coordinator in Burnaby running the
Shadbolt Centre for the Arts . He is
now the Arts Services Manager for the City of Burnaby and lives in
Vancouver.
Theatre BC:  In 1999 Ian directed A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum for Theatre Kelowna, and worked as a Theatre Consultant for Theatre BC. He has served as Special Course Instructor in
Impulses and the Art of Improv Acting at Mainstage 2006, The Mysteries of Comedy Explained at Mainstage '02 and What's So Funny? at Backstage '02. Ian also served as Adjudicator for the KOZ Festival in 2003.

Duncan Fraser

Duncan is a professional actor and director with extensive experience in both live theatre and film & television. His acting accomplishments include a Jessie Award in 1987, as well as multiple Genie and Gemini Award nominations. Duncan served as Artistic Director for the Nanaimo Festival Theatre (now TheatreOne) from 1989 through 1991 and as Associate Artistic Director of Vancouver’s Fend Players from 1991 to 1994.

Theatre BC: Duncan has been involved with Theatre BC for many years. He has served as Zone Festival adjudicator for the Fraser Valley, Peace River, Central Interior, Skeena and Greater Vancouver Zones. He was a workshop Plays instructor at Mainstage ’93 in North Vancouver and has facilitated workshops for many member clubs. He previously served as a Juror for the Canadian National Playwriting Competition in 1992 and in 2003.

Vivien Frow Vivien Frow :
                     Vivien has been designing and costuming for 40 years. She has worked in Britain and Australia for film, stage and television.  Designing in Canada started as resident designer at Theatre Calgary in the early 70's. Since then she has travelled coast to coast freelancing in theatre, TV, film. Sharing the 'tricks of the trade' is a treat for Vivien.

Theatre BC: Vivien is a Special Course Leader favourite in Creative Costuming and Costume Transformations. She also gives workshops in creating your own patterns, costume draping and producing a body double for sewing.

GardinerEsm.jpg (21646 bytes) Eliza Gardiner :
                     Eliza has an M.A. in Drama from the U of Toronto, as well as a B.F.A. in Film from York University. She has been instructing and directing Young People's theatre through her company, Earth Muffin Productions, for eight years. Eliza has written and designed original plays, adaptations of classics and musicals. She currently instructs first-year Theatre History at Malaspina University-College in Nanaimo and co-runs the Red Room Acting Studio in Nanaimo.

Theatre BC: Eliza served as juror for the 16th Canadian National Playwriting Competition (2004) and as Youth Workshop Play Instructor at Mainstage 2005 in Nanaimo.

RobertGardiner.gif (61312 bytes) Robert Gardiner :
                     Robert ,who is Head of the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing at UBC, has designed over 150 productions during his 20+ year design career. He has designed sets and/or lighting for companies in Chicago, Montreal, Kamloops, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle, Sudbury, Tokyo, Victoria and Vancouver, amongst others. In Vancouver, he has received several Jessie Richardson Awards. Robert has taught scenery and lighting design at UBC since 1986. He has also worked as a director, technical director, stage carpenter, scenic artist, and actor. Robert has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from California State University, Sacramento and an MFA in Theatre Design from the University of Washington.

Theatre BC: Robert has taught design workshops at Backstage, and he and wife Rachel Ditor, served as the adjudicating 'team' for Mainstage 2006 in Maple Ridge.

           Leonie Gardner has had a wide and varied career in the arts in England, USA and in Canada. She has worked as an actress on stage, film & television and as a stage director across Canada. She was professor of acting and voice at the University of Ottawa, has conducted numerous workshops and seminars in voice & acting for universities, colleges, theatre companies. Leonie was founder and Artistic Director of Stage Studio Ottawa. She has also worked as a Casting & Talent Agent, owning and operating First Stage Talent Agency. She moved to Nanaimo from Ottawa stopping on route at Cranbrook where she served on the board of the Key City Theatre and, for a brief period of time, was Chair of Theatre BC's Kootenay Zone.          

Theatre BC: Leoni gave workshops in "Voice Production" & "Vocal Variety" at Mainstage 2005 in Nanaimo.

            Fran is an actor, director and dramaturge. Her acting credits include stops with the Blyth Festival, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Theatre Calgary, Northern Lights Theatre, Playwright's Theatre Centre (formerly the New Play Centre), Arts Club Theatre, Playhouse Theatre and both Shakespeare Kelowna and Theatre Kelowna. She still performs the 10th Annual Canadian National Playwriting Competition's One-Act Winner, Looking For Kitty (formerly Dried Flowers) by Maryjane Cruise.
Her work in film and television includes a nomination for a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1998, Fran was awarded The Arts Person of the Year award in Kelowna, BC.
Fran was involved with the Banff Playwrights Colony for many years, including terms as Program Head from 1976 - 1985 and coordinator of the Screenwriters Workshop from 1986 - 1990. She also taught Directing for the theatre program at UVIC during the 2003/04 term. She was on faculty with the Theatre Department of the University of Regina until July 2006. She also adjudicates and gives workshops with Theatre Saskatchewan.

Theatre BC: Fran was a juror for the 10th (1998), 12th (2000) and 18th (2006) Annual Canadian National Playwriting Competitions and also served as a Round Table dramaturge at TheatreBC's New Play Festival in Victoria in1999 and Kamloops in 2002. She has traveled to most zones as a Regional Instructor in acting/directing, as well as Workshop Play instructor at Mainstage '02 in Nanaimo. Fran served as adjudicator for both the NIZ and CIZ Festivals in 2003.

Bonnie’s career as an actor, director, playwright, and teacher of acting as taken her from the sandy shores of cape Cod, Mass, to the sultry heat of Nashville, Tennesse, and the urban wilderness of Whitehorse, Yukon Territories. She has directed for the Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, as well as Spiritsong Native Theatre, Touchstone Theatre , the Arts Club, and the Vancouver Playhouse. She is delighted to be teaching first and second year acting at U.B.C.  Bonnie is currently developing a one woman show entitled Women Traveling Solo in Foreign Countries.

Her extensive association with Theatre BC goes back to 1983 when she first started adjudicating for us. She also served as Director of the Scene Development Series for the Mainstage 1992 and 1993.

Dean Paul Gibson Dean Paul Gibson :
                              Dean is an artistic associate with Vancouver's celebrated Shakespeare Festival Bard On the Beach and has appeared in fifteen of their productions. He traveled with the national tour of the acclaimed production The Overcoat for the Vancouver Playhouse and was a member of the original award-winning production in 1997. He was featured in the award winning GreenThumb production of Problem Child, which also garnered him a Jessie Richardson award for his work. Some recent credits include; the Belfry Theatre's production of  "Stones In His Pockets", Lucio in Measure for Measure for Bard On the Beach, Ray Say in “The Rise and Fall of Little Voice” for the Vancouver Playhouse, Inspector Goole An Inspector Calls  W.C.T.C./Gateway Theatre. He also appeared in Remnant for Pacific Theatre, Amadeus and Other Peoples' Money both for W.C.T.C., Trolldom Axis Theatre, A Christmas Carol TheatreOne. Dean has also taught classes and workshops for Backstage, MainStage, Capilano College and Bard on the Beach focused on the Love of Language. His production of Decedence was a critical hit at the Fringe Festival and sold out for its run. Dean is a graduate of Vancouver's prestigious Studio 58 professional theatre training program

Theatre BC:
Dean has served as Adjudicator for many Zone Festivals  and proved a most popular MAINSTAGE adjudicator in Kamloops in 2007. He has also been enthralling participants with his The Shakespearean Soliloquy & Love of Language Acting Workshops for numerous Backstage & MAINSTAGE Festivals.

                              Beth has worked as a costumer for 25 years. She has designed and built costumes for school and community theatres in Honolulu, Hawaii, and in San Jose, Milpitas, and Palo Alto, California. As costume Rentals Manager for American Musical Theatre of San Jose, she rented complete musical show packages to professional and community theatres across the US (and some in Canada). Other experience includes Hawaiian fashion design and
patternmaking, and retail display design. Beth has her degree in theatre
from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. She is looking forward to getting involved in the BC theatrical scene.

                        Elizabeth worked as a professional actor, singer and director in various theatre across Canada, including Manitoba Theatre Centre, Sunshine Theatre (Kelowna), Bastion Theatre (Victoria), Young Peoples Theatre (Toronto)and Rainbow Stage (Winnipeg), before becoming Artistic Director for Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions in Victoria in 1974. She remained at Kaleidoscope for 26 years. Under Elizabeth's direction, Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions grew from a local school touring company to two national and international touring companies. In 1980, a theatre school program was initiated and in 1991, the Company opened its own 300 seat theatre facility with a resident company program.
Over the past 30 years, Elizabeth has written over 80 scripts (original and adaptations) that have been produced by Kaleidoscope, and, in some cases, by other companies, including Neptune Theatre (Halifax), Young Peoples Theatre, the National Theatre (Tel Aviv, Israel) and Kaze-No-Ko (Tokyo, Japan).
Elizabeth has worked as an adjudicator for BC Drama Festivals, juror for the Canada Council and Arts Council of BC. She received the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal for contribution to Canadian Theatre for Young Audiences, as well as the CFAX Radio Awards "Arts Person of the Year" for Victoria.
Her education includes a Drama Diploma from the Banff School of Fine Arts, an Associate degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto and a BA with Honours in English and History from the University of Manitoba.

                 Peter is well-known in the Okanagan region and throughout BC, having worked extensively as an actor, director and instructor with many companies, including Kaleidescope, Bastion and Belfry Theatres in Victoria, Axis Mime, Tamanhous, Touchstone and Playhouse Theatres in Vancouver and Caravan Farm Theatre (20 years) and Western Canada Theatre in the Okanagan-Southern Interior.
Peter’s skills are many and include mask, improvisation, mime, stagefighting, circus skills, puppeteering, and teaching. He has worked as an Instructor with the Playhouse Theatre School, Caravan Farm Theatre, Kaleidoscope Theatre, Sen’Klip Native Theatre, where he adapted and directed two touring productions, and dramaturged and directed Chris Waddell's puppet production of Gulliver's Travels.
Peter is also a co-founder of "Collected Works Theatre", which offers annual 'Shakespeare Retreats' in Summerland, BC.

Theatre BC: Peter is a popular Instructor/Consultant for Theatre BC, giving workshops in Mask & Props. He has also served as a dramaturge and adjudicator.

                 Sandy Halliday has been a professional stage manager for over 25 years, working in theatre, dance and opera across the country and in Asia. She began her career many years ago as assistant stage manager for the National Ballet of Canada & the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. After a season as stage manager for the Royal Winnipeg, she spent 6 years freelancing, stage managing for theatre companies all across the country. She was with the original Bastion Theatre, the Muskoka Festival, Theatre Passe Muraille and Stratford Festival before she got the opportunity to return to her dance roots with Judith Marcuse Dance Company and the Universal Ballet of Seoul, Korea. A move to Victoria prompted a seven-year run as one of Pacific Opera Victoria’s stage managers. Most recently, she was the SM for TheatreOne 's "Shirley Valentine" and "Mary's Wedding"in Nanaimo. After all these years, she still thinks stage managing is the most fun job in the theatre.

Theatre BC:  Sandy has instructed workshops in Stage Management at Mainstage 1999, 2002 & 2005 in Nanaimo.

Peter Hanlon Peter Hanlon :
                       Peter is a Ryerson Theatre School Graduate who has been actively involved in Theatre, Film and TV. Peter has worked primarily in Toronto and for the past decade in Vancouver.  He has assisted Mel Austin-Tuck at The Gastown Actors Studio as an Acting Instructor for Theatre, Film and TV.
Peter's list of credits run the gamut of episodic TV, (X-files, Wiseguy, Outer Limits, The Commish, 21 Jump Street, Millenium, Poltergeist, The Sentinal, Bordertown, Black Stallion, Viper, and Cold Squad, to name but a few credits) Movies of the Week, and Film Credits.
Peter is skilled in Mime, Stage Fighting, Fencing, Acting and Directing with over two decades of professional experience in these arts.

Theatre BC: Peter was a Tour Instructor for the Skeena Zone Regional workshops in preparation for the Skeena 2000 Zone festival.

Clara is an actor director, producer, stage manager, costumer, educator and adjudicator who holds a Bachelor of Education in Drama, Mathematics & Home Economics from the University of Alberta. She has worked in theatre for over 40 years all across western Canada, incl.the Edmonton Fringe, Citadel Theatre, Red Deer College(Alb.), Greystone Theatre (Sask.), UVIC, Langham Court, Bastion Theatre & Phoenix Theatre (Victoria) and The Guild in Whitehorse, Yukon. Clara has extensive experience teaching everything from improv, film acting, speech and creative drama to restaurant skills and home economics. She has adjudicated numerous drama festivals (high school and community), music and speech festivals and for the BC Festival of the Arts many times. She currently calls Kelowna home.

Theatre BC: Clara was a Tour Instructor for the Okanagan Zone in early 2003. She also adjudicated the South Island Zone Festival in 1983.

                              Nick is a professional fight choreographer, actor, stuntman and director. He trained and worked as an actor in London, England and has an MFA in Directing. Most notably Nicholas worked as the fight director for the feature film Snow Falling on Cedars by Scott Hicks (Shine) and for Scooby Doo 2.

Theatre BC: Nick is one of  Theatre BC's most popular workshop instructors with his Stage Combat & Directing courses at Backstage and Mainstage Festivals over the past several years.

                      Sandra has over 30 years experience as an active theatre professional in Western Canada, filling roles such as musical director, arranger, composer, singing teacher, singer and actor. She has won Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards for her work as musical director, collaborative co-creator and composer. For 19 years she was the singing teacher at Studio 58 as well as at other Lower Mainland colleges. Sandra also has two published musicals to her credit. She earned her Masters in Education at UBC in 1997. She now lives in Burnaby with her husband, Raimund Stamm. Sandra offers services as workshop instructor for vocal technique for musical theatre and how to learn and/or adapt acting skills to the requirements of musical theatre songs.

Theatre BC: Sandra led a workshop in Musical Theatre at MAINSTAGE 2001 in Kamloops.

Sharon Heath Sharon Heath
Sharon Heath has been working professionally in theatre since graduating from the National Theatre School in 1987. It was in theatre school that she first began writing comedy. Early writing credits include too blonde and  her one-woman show based on Janis Joplin called Piece of My Heart. In 1992 she founded Full Figure Theatre Company with Tammy Bentz and Jacqueline Dandeneau to write and produce more shows about women. Together they created the musical comedy, the "f" word… or Can Feminism beFunny?, way too blonde , Wumpa…. An Adventure the "f" word, and On The Brink,  touring some of these internationally. Sharon also wrote and performed stand-up comedy and began writing a one woman show called Sex Cells: The Continuation of the Species and The Big Map: A History of Early British Columbia, with Faith Moosang, Chris McGregor, Steven Hill and Lois Anderson. In 1998 she wrote and performed for the comedy trio, Gut Wrench. This show continues to tour. In the Fall of 2000 Sharon accepted a 6-month Interim Artistic Producer of Sunshine Theatre in Kelowna. Directing credits include Ethan Claymore, The Women (Deux Mille Production at Presentation House in North Vancouver). 2002 saw Sharon as Head Writer and Director of A Steele of A Show for Rosebud Theatre, a show performed at Ft. Steele Heritage Park. Sharon is presently working on a screenplay about five women and their procreation issues called Seasonal.

For Theatre BC: Sharon served as juror for the 14th Annual (2002) Canadian National Playwriting Competition and served as a dramaturge at the New Play Festival in Kamloops in April, 2001 and 2003. Sharon served as adjudicator for the FVZ Festival in 2003. She was also the Youth Workshop Play instructor at Mainstage 2006 in Maple Ridge.

Stephen is a professional director, teacher, actor and playwright who has been active in the theatre profession for over 25 years. He was Artistic Director of Edmonton's Theatre Network from 1981-92 and Associate Artistic Director of the Citadel Theatre from 1994-99. He is currently part of the Theatre Program at UBC.

Theatre BC: Stephen taught a weekend workshop on directing called Leading The Team at Backstage 2000 in Vancouver and adjudicated for the Vancouver Zone Festival in 2001.

A graduate of the University of Victoria, Mark has twenty years of professional participation in the performing arts and entertainment industries, as an actor, musician, director, composer, teacher, workshop animator, producer and consultant. Specializing in inter-disciplinary training, creation and performance, theatre in education and in the design and implementation of new programs for the exploration and application of creative, performing and literary arts.
     He has worked as an actor with various companies from Victoria to Montreal, including Phoenix Theatre (University of Victoria), the Belfry Theatre, the Globe Theatre in Regina, Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Centaur Theatre in Montreal, Prairie Theatre Exchange in Winnipeg and Caravan Theatre in Armstrong, BC.
     Mark has also worked as a Director,Dramaturge, Producer and Composer. His extensive education/ workshop credits include teaching Voice, Acting, Stage Fighting, Shakespeare, Writing Development, Creative Writing and Improvisation.
     Mark’s professional experience also includes roles in film, television, radio and voice-overs for animated series and features.

Theatre BC: Stephen taught a weekend workshop on directing called Leading The Team at Backstage 2000 in Vancouver and adjudicated for the Vancouver Zone Festival in 2001. He also served as Juror for the 11th Annual Canadian National Playwriting Competition in 1999.

                             Janet has been a freelance playwright and dramaturge since 1983. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Drama at Queen's University, Kingston, ON. she spent some time in West Africa as English Teacher and Dramatical Mistress for a secondary school. Returning to Canada, Janet then went on to earn her Masters of Fine Arts in Drama (Playwriting) at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Since then she has been an active contributor to the theatre community there, writing numerous plays and receiving two awards for her work entered in the Alberta Culture Playwriting Contest. She taught drama at teh University of Alberta for 10 years. Her play Delicate State Disturbed was nominated for Best Premiere Play from the Alberta Writers' Guild Awards in 1992. Her play People Don't Climb on Roofs in Oakville was nominated for a Sterling Award in 1993. She has served as Dramaturge for Workshop West Theatre, TheatreBlitz North and Kam Theatre Play Workshops. She is now living in Kelowna with her husband, David Mann, who is Artistic Director of Sunshine Theatre.

Theatre BC: Janet served as juror for the 12th Annual Canadian National Playwriting Competition (2000).

             Gordon Hoeppner has been on actor for the last twenty years and an ACTRA/UBCP member. He studied at the Carousel Theatre School in Vancouver in 1984. He received a scholarship grant from the Canada Council in 1986 to study in Connecticut with the National Theatre of the Deaf Professional School and was accepted back for advanced studies in 1991. From 1985 to 2005, Gordon, who is a profoundly Deaf actor, has been active in theatre, film, TV, tours (across Canada & USA) and consultant in American Sign Language (ASL) for TV & stage. Recently, he studied the bases of video making production programming at Video In Studio and then took the "Producer", "Indie Shooting Film" and "Director" courses at Vancouver Film School.
As he finished
Carousel Theatre School, Gordon founded an independent Deaf’s theatre group, named Acted Imaged Theatre Company for which he participated and directed a series of one-act plays for the Vancouver Fringe Festival in 1985. In 1990, he was the first person to serve as co-producer for Toronto’s Equity Showcase Theatre. Not only did he co-produce their productions of The Elephant Man, he also played Dr. Treves. He received the Artist In Education Grant by Ontario Arts Council providing him assistance for tours and teaching several acting and ASL’s hands in art programs. This went out to deaf schools and youth hearing program organizations in form of storytelling throughout Ontario. For three years, he was accepted to teach his acting classes at George Brown College and his own classes in Toronto. In 1996 he contributed to the summer workshops and directed hearing children, through an interpreter, in the ABC Story performances at Lighthouse Festival Theatre by Theatre Ontario’s Youth Theatre Training Program in Port Dover. Starting 1993 and continuing Gordon founded the touring company of Fingers Happy Productions in American Sign Language and the Spoken Word for public schools and festivals. Gordon’s adapted tales and self written creations have become a large part of his touring.

Vancouver-born Jeff Hyslop is indisputably one of Canada's foremost performing artists. Equally masterful as a singer, dancer, actor - he has starred with unqualified success in such landmark musical productions as Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Women, Jacques Brel, The Producers and of course the role of Mike in both the London West End and Broadway productions of A Chorus Line. To many he is the quintessential Phantom of the Opera, a role he embraced for over 900 performances.
He starred as Jeff the Mannequin in the TVO children's series Today's Special which sustained a huge popularity for over 10 years.
At age 21, Jeff was dancing and singing in Norman Jewison's film Jesus Christ Superstar. His numerous television appearances include series for both CTV and CBC-TV, the most memorable of these being his own Dancin' Man superspecial where he partnered his favourite leading lady, Karen Kain.
Jeff has received numerous awards including 3 Jessie's - 2 for Best Choreography the other for Best Director; 5 nominations for the ACTRA Award for Best Variety Performer and a Dora Mavor Moore Award in 1984 for On Tap.
Choreography and directing are Jeff's real love and it shows in productions such as Peter Pan, A Chorus Line, On Tap, Guys and Dolls and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Most recent productions under his direction as Artistic Director for Showcase Festival - The Dream On Royal Street andKiss Me, Kate. Showcase Festival - the new summer theatre for enjoyment in Campbell River and Courtenay/ Comox.The ever-growing resurgance of interest in adult tap & jazz classes and Musical Theatre in general are keeping Jeff "on his toes".

Theatre BC: Jeff has led sold-out workshops on movement, choreography and musical theatre at Mainstage festivals  in Nanaimo (2005) and Maple Ridge (2006)
