Diane Martin

Diane Martin
     Diane has accumulated over fifteen years of experience in every aspect of theatre.  After studying Technical Theatre at Niagara College, Diane worked as Properties Head for Arbour Theatre and Prairie Theatre Exchange as well as Head Scenic Painter for the Blyth Festival and Carousel Players.
     Following the Performance Program at Theatre Humber, Diane acted in a number of classical works including King Lear, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Antony & Cleopatra and Two Gentlemen of Verona with a few modern pieces thrown into the mix. A playwriting workshop with Larry Fineberg was the inspiration to attempt to create intelligent and challenging roles for women.  The first was "Bobasaurus", a tale of food sensitivities and extinction produced at the Poor Alex Theatre in Toronto followed by "Faerie Inc.", an exploration in verse of the sprites in a Midsummer Night's Dream, and "This Above All".

Meah Martin

Meah Martin
   Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Meah graduated from UBC with a B.A. in Theatre (1997) and an MFA in Creative Writing (1999).
   Her works include:
White Skates, a one-woman show produced at UBC, Presentation House and the Vancouver Fringe Festival. An excerpt is published in "Going It Alone", edited by Kit Brennan, published by Nuage Press. ;

Mrs. Frank, presented at the Brave New Play Rite Festival, UBC - directed by Jan Selman ;
Over The Moon, produced at UBC and Frederic Wood Theatre, published in Canadian Theatre Review, November 1999 (to be published in an anthology January 2001).
Brown Wasp, excerpt produced in 3X3, Festival House, Vancouver - directed by Johanna Wright, a one-woman show with Wendy Noel.
   Meah is currently working on Brown Wasp (one-act) and The Rose Café (full-length), some short stories and poetry. She divides her time between Prince George and Vancouver. She considers herself very fortunate to be selected by Theatre BC in the One-Act Category of the Canadian National Playwriting Competition.

Sally Stubbs

Sally Stubbs
    Sally, a Finalist in last year's Competition with her one act play, Home Movies:, completed her Masters Degree in History in Art at the University of Victoria in the 1970's. She followed with a B.Ed and worked at UVic, museums and art galleries, discovering creative drama through her work with children and the arts.
     She has studied theatre in Canada, England, and the United States with some outstanding teachers including Michael Kahn (Jilliard, Washington Shakespeare Company), Richard Cottrell (Bristol Old Vic, Stratford), and Ben Bennison (RADA). Sally has also worked with Women In View and Playwrights Theatre Centre in Vancouver, BC.
     Sally Clark, a Juror for the Annual Canadian National Playwriting Competition in 1999, recommended Ms. Stubbs to the BC Festival of the Arts as an 'emerging playwright of note' and also helped to promote Home Movies: (short-listed for The Factory Theatre's 'Works Festival').
     Sally Stubbs is currently a member of 'Writers Block A 2000, a group of emerging writers, at the Playwrights Theatre Centre in Vancouver, BC.
