LANNI MCINNES

Lanni's association with Canadian theatre is approaching its fourth decade.  At age fifteen, she abruptly veered off a planned career path (teaching English) and threw herself into an emerging regional theatre company thanks in part to other artists, directors, producers and loyal audiences.  Lanni has developed skills as an actor, an improvisational actor, an instructor of young artists and a director of Mainstage and Secondstage Theatre, employed by a number of BC companies. Her directing  credits range from the comic The Foreigner  to the dramatic The Retreat. As an resident director for Western Canada Theatre, Lanni often provides script assessments for the company.

Lanni is pleased to have participated as part of the collaboration between Western Canada Theatre and Theatre BC for the development of new Canadian work at Theatre BC's New Play Festival in Kamloops, where she served as a Dramaturge/Instructor at the April 2000 event.   This is Lanni's first time serving as a Juror for our competition.

He was the Founder of The Phoenix Theatre in Edmonton, former Artistic director of Theatre 3, also in Edmonton, and the Bastion Theatre in Victoria.  He has directed several award winning productions and numerous Canadian premieres across Canada.

Keith has worked for Theatre BC in many capacities, including Backstage instructor, adjudicator, and MAINSTAGE workshop instructor.  Currently, Mr. Digby is Head of Performing Arts at Brentwood College, a private co-ed boarding school on Vancouver Island. This is the third time Keith has served as a Canadian National Playwriting Competition Juror for Theatre BC.
