Stage 43 Auditions Charley's Aunt by Brandon Thomas / Directed by Jim Harrison
January 13-22, 2011 @ The Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam
At Oxford University in 1892 Victorian England, Charley Wykeman anticipates that his aunt Donna Lucia D'Alvadorez en route from Brazil ("where the nuts come from") will act as chaperone while he and classmate Jack Chesney profess their love for their sweethearts before their overprotective guardian takes them away to Scotland for several months. But what to do when his never before seen aunt announces she will be delayed? Persuade their rugby playing classmate Lord Fancourt Babberly to dress up and masquerade as the Aunt of course. What could possibly go wrong? (Especially when the real aunt shows up un expectedly). This high energy timeless classic farce continues to delight audiences.

What happens when an eccentric tour guide is assigned to the dullest house in England? After watching her groups dwindle with boredom, she begins to elaborate. As she adds wildly dramatic tales of murder and intrigue, she begins to receive ovations from her increasing audiences. Her success is cut short when the formidable head of the Historic Tours shows up.
